Something new for me at Amanda and Justin’s wedding was not actually meeting them face to face until two days before their big day (or at least I couldn’t remember which couple they were at a wedding show). I like … Continue reading →
It might be because I made some of the best memories of my childhood there, but I think there is something almost magical about northern Michigan. Ever since our first meeting, I had been looking forward to Rachel and David’s … Continue reading →
There was so much I loved about Nikki and Shaun’s wedding. Nikki is an art teacher and did such an amazing job hand-making many different parts of her wedding. She had a fantastic vision and did a wonderful job making … Continue reading →
Sometimes I’m taken aback by the fact that I am not only invited to document one of the most intimate and personal days of a couple’s life, but just to even witness that day is an incredibly special thing. Sure, … Continue reading →
Something that I love about each one of my brides is that they all have such different taste. It makes my job so exciting to see the same event done in so many different ways and executed beautifully each time. … Continue reading →
In the midst of all the rain we’ve had for what seems like forever, we had a rare beautiful day of weather for Caitlyn and Larry’s engagement photos. We started out at the park down by their apartment which was the setting for Larry’s actual proposal, and then headed over to U of M’s campus for some shots as well. I had so much fun with these two and I totally cannot wait for their wedding next June. I mean, who wouldn’t want to work with a couple that were all for hopping in a fountain during their engagement shoot? I had a hard time picking my favorites, and I hope you enjoy a little peek!
Megan and Nathan officially kicked-off the start of my wedding season with their May 7th wedding in Ann Arbor. They had a beautiful ceremony at First Congregational Church followed by a sweet and intimate reception at the Gandy Dancer. After … Continue reading →
I know, I know, it’s been a while. With my official start to wedding season taking place this coming Saturday, I figured I might as well squeeze a blog in this week before it becomes a pretty regular happening once again.
Genevieve and Ray are one of my 2011 couples and will be getting married in October. I always feel very strange when I have gotten to know a bride so well and have heard so much about the man in her life, but have yet to meet him in person. Getting a guy to take pictures and do it happily isn’t always the easiest thing, and then throwing a perfect stranger into the mix makes it even harder. But Ray was such a good sport during the entire session, and had me cracking up for a good part of it. This is why I love doing engagement sessions so much. I love being able to go into one of the most intimate days of someone’s life and not feel out of place. An engagement session before the big day helps me understand a couple and they get to know me too. It also helps that I’ve had nothing but really amazing couples to work with too!
This is a post I have been waiting for with lots of giddy anticipation. I absolutely love the fact that I am surrounded by so many incredibly talented and creative women, and I was honored when my friend Sarah Quint asked me to photograph some of her work for her up-and-coming website launch. Sarah’s creativity in her home, even as a college student when we first met four years ago, has always amazed me. Now, as a Certified Interior Decorator, she has continued to wow in the homes of many others.
So head on over to Sarah’s newly minted website here, and check out a range of services she offers.

I’ve had a few blasts from the past lately. It was great to see another high school classmate of mine as a new mom and her absolutely adorable little baby boy. Congratulations Connie and Tim, and I hope you love the pictures!
